    It's the first time I've heard about Barry Commoner but it all makes sense. I just say what I think, it seems common sense to me. Or at least I'd like to believe it (because otherwise, what's all this suffering for?)

    How right you are. So you are familiar with Barry Commoner's four laws of ecology. The first one states that everything is interconnected. The second says, Everything must go somewhere," and the third says, "Nobody gets a free lunch." The last one claims, "Nature knows best." So there you have it.
